Ahmad Faiz Ibadurrahmanさんのチームが、12月22日に東北大学で開催された「Hult Prize On Campus」で優勝し、来年東京で行われる大会に進出することになりました。

On December 22nd, I and my team presented our idea in Hult Prize On Campus – Tohoku University. Hult Prize is an international competition to make a business idea that can reach not least than one million people in ten years. The theme of the global competition is always related to one of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the theme changes every year. This year challenge is: “Building Startups That Have A Positive Impact On Our Planet with Every Dollar Earned”. My team presented our idea which we called “Jammable”. Jammable is a project to process a low-quality tropical fruit from the farmers in Indonesia into a jam, and then distribute it to the sub-tropical countries where tropical fruits are hard to found. As food loss and waste is a factor that contributes to approximately 10% of global carbon emission, we believe that reducing food loss from the production and distribution process is the most effective way to give positive impact to our planet and environment. We came as the winner of Tohoku University on Campus program and get the ticket to regional competition that will be held in Tokyo next year. Our idea got positive feedbacks and advices from the judges and they hope we can brush up our idea for the regional competition, which is sure will be tougher than the on-campus program.
